Yassine Khelifa / Software Engineer · Full-Stack Developer

Software that gives people their time back.

I designed and built a retail ERP used in three stores in Milan. With a Master’s degree in Computer Science, I turn real workflows into dependable applications — from requirements and database design to testing and deployment.

PHP, Laravel, React & TypeScript. Full-stack development with a strong focus on backend logic, REST APIs and relational data models.

01 / Selected work

Software with a job to do.

Real client needs, independent delivery and considered technical decisions. Here is what I built, and why.

02 Private-school client · Algeria · Aug 2026 — Sep 2026

School Management

School administration software built for a private school in Algeria.

Client project

I built the application around the school's administrative needs: student records, enrolments, exams, grades and statistics, with different access for administrators and teachers.

  • Access tied to responsibilities. Laravel Sanctum and Policies handle authentication and role-based access, including restrictions tied to teacher assignments. Form Requests, API Resources and reusable query scopes structure validation, filtering, pagination and bulk grade updates.
  • Delivery beyond the interface. Functional tests, a GitHub Actions CI workflow and deployment on AWS EC2 with Nginx, PHP-FPM and MySQL.

About the demo: the public version is a reduced subset of the client project, shared to demonstrate selected features.

Tech Repair

Flexible device data, a technician workspace and clearer customer communication.

Database design + applied AI

A repair platform informed by my own electronics experience, with a Laravel backend, a React frontend and a page where customers can follow their repair's progress.

  • Device specifications that adapt. Different device models need different attributes and allowed options. I modelled those relationships in the database instead of adding a fixed column for every possible specification.
  • AI with a specific purpose. A technician selects a new repair status and requests a message. The system uses the repair details and previous customer-visible messages to draft a contextual update. The technician can review and edit it before saving.

04 Education · Oct 2026 — Present

AI Quiz Quiz Generation & Assessment

An AI-powered quiz platform built around explicit rules and documented decisions.

In development

I am developing a full-stack platform with Laravel and React, integrating AI APIs to generate quiz questions and evaluate answers. The work brings together my interest in education, backend architecture and useful applications of AI.

  • Business rules defined before implementation. I write detailed technical documentation and define the business logic and architectural decisions myself. These documents guide implementation and provide a clear reference for reviewing changes.
  • Invitations designed into the data model. I am building a workflow for sending and accepting invitations, with each invitation associated with its intended recipient.
  • AI workflows with engineering discipline. Current development includes backend validation and error handling around AI integrations, alongside the platform's core workflows.

Promo Pilot

One place to discover promotions across businesses and categories.

Offer discovery platform

I developed this platform for a client in Algeria whose idea was to bring promotions from different sectors together. Businesses submit their offers, visitors browse by category, and a link takes them to the business's own website.

  • Two sides of the product. A public offer-discovery experience, backed by a workflow for reviewing, approving and publishing business promotions.
  • The supporting workflow. JWT authentication, campaign states, advanced filters, Stripe payments and webhooks, queued email notifications and scheduled publication.

Demo links may require access. The small workflow diagrams are explanatory illustrations, not product screenshots.

02 / About me

Build something useful.
Pass the benefit on.

Yassine Khelifa Developer, and a curious human.

I enjoy understanding how people work and building software that makes their daily tasks easier.

Phone retail and electronics repair shaped how I approach requirements, data models and interfaces: start with the real workflow, then build around it.

Long before I wrote code, I benefited from things others had spent years inventing. Building something useful is my way of passing that benefit on — especially in education and healthcare, and wherever repetitive work takes time away from people.

I want to contribute to a team, keep learning and take responsibility for the software I build.

04 / How I work

Understand it. Design it. Take responsibility.

Start with the real need.

I ask how the work is done, where time is lost and what a useful result would look like. The solution has to fit the people using it.

Give the solution a structure.

I enjoy using mathematics, algorithms and design patterns where they help. I care about the data model, clear architecture, maintainability and practical optimisation.

Own the engineering.

I designed and built these projects myself. AI helps me investigate errors and accelerate parts of the work; I make the technical decisions, review the code and remain responsible for the result.

Tools change. Fundamentals travel.

Laravel gives me structure and React helps me build effective interfaces. A sound foundation helps me adapt to another framework with purpose.
